A number of years ago while at a mine safety conference in Salt Lake City I was with a group of safety professionals that visited this mine and were in awe of it’s size and scope. The landslide that occurred there on April 10 and shut down production there is difficult to imagine as well and its even more difficult to imagine why an event like this would go unnoticed by any of the news media that I usually see.
